The Largest Kalmyk Participation in a Mongolian Naadam Festival in the United States

On July 10–11, around 80 Kalmyk Heritage Center members and artists, including members of three children’s performing groups, will travel to Washington, DC to showcase the beauty and uniqueness of Kalmyk culture at the Mongolian Naadam Festival.

We will perform:

💃 The energetic traditional dance “Chichrdg” performed by Phoenix Dance Studio;

🎶 The vibrant “Dombra Melody” performed by Bair Ensemble;

🎤 The beloved song “Sharka-Barka,” well known among Mongolians, performed by SongRise Vocal Studio.

We believe this event will become a significant milestone in the history of the Kalmyk community in the United States and will create cherished memories that participants will carry with them for years to come.

Participating in Naadam is about far more than taking the stage. It serves as a bridge of friendship between our brotherly peoples and offers our children a unique opportunity to develop their talents, experience the richness of Mongolian culture, build new friendships, visit the capital of the United States, and enjoy an unforgettable journey together aboard a comfortable 56-seat charter bus. Any support toward covering transportation costs, regardless of the amount, would be greatly appreciated and will help make it possible for more children and families to take part in this memorable experience.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the American Kalmyk families in Washington, as well as to Kalmyks from New York, Chicago, Miami, and many other cities across the United States, for their generous support and contributions. We warmly welcome and deeply appreciate all the support that helps make this event possible.

The Chicago Mongolian community has celebrated Naadam annually since 2000.

With more than 3,000 attendees expected, the 2026 festival is positioned as the largest Naadam celebration in the United States.

Organized by Mongolian community-based nonprofit organizations in cooperation with the Consulate of Mongolia in Chicago.

Naadam means "games" in Mongolian and centers on three traditional competitions: wrestling, archery and horse racing.

It is one of Mongolia's most cherished festivals and is recognized on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
